A new £30M facility to provide 74 acute mental health beds, including 6 psychiatric intensive care beds to replace the current inpatient provision for greater Belfast.
GRAHAM BAM Healthcare Partnership will construct a collection of units, arranged around a cloistered garden with communal and staff areas. Design aspects consider colours, lighting, materials, furniture, fixtures and fittings to ensure that the environment helps patients and their families towards recovery in a specially designed therapeutic environment.
The modern facility will support the development of the Belfast Trust’s Acute Mental Health service and will offer high standards of treatment and evidence-based interventions for service users experiencing an acute phase of mental illness.
